A separate visa is not required to enter Northern Cyprus, however, upon arrival in the country, a stamp is placed on the passport or on a separate leaflet with a permitted stay of up to 30 days.
Why only 30 days and not 90 days?
According to local law, foreign citizens visiting Northern Cyprus as tourists can stay in the country for up to 30 days, but this period can be extended to 3 months.
How can I extend my stay in the country?
In accordance with the Residence and Visa Regulations, the validity of a visa obtained upon entry cannot be extended except in the following cases:
✅Providing a confirmed booking of paid accommodation indicating the duration of stay and payment amount.
✅Purchase of real estate in Northern Cyprus. In this case, it is necessary to provide documents confirming the real estate transaction.
To extend your stay to 90 days, you need to apply by providing the following documents:
✔️Passport (original or copy).
✔️Receipt or documents related to real estate (original or copy).
There is another alternative:
✅Leaving the country and re-entering: If you are in Northern Cyprus and want to extend your stay in Cyprus to 90 days, you can leave the country and then return to start a new 30 day period. However, foreign citizens can stay in Northern Cyprus without a residence permit (RP) for up to 90 days. This means you can stay on the island for up to three months without needing a special residence permit.
However, after the 90-day period has expired, you must either leave the country or make arrangements for legal stay, such as obtaining a residence permit or obtaining another appropriate visa.
Are you ready to pack your suitcase and enjoy 90 days of beautiful views and sun? 😉
